I recently watched the Roast of Bob Saget. I can't decide about Norm MacDonald ... Is this how he normally is (very dry humor) .... or is he being "lame" on purpose???
The more I watch this, the harder I laugh.

I think he's being lame on purpose, because roasts are this old-fashioned thing, and the members of the friars club are all so old, so he whipped out some of the oldest, crustiest jokes, and that's sort of the joke.
